Crises and Emergencies

There are crises and there are emergencies.

A crisis is when something happens that really upsets you and seems to require immediate action. In these instances you may call my office number (513) 984-9940. When the office is closed, we have an answering service that will call me at home or on my cell phone if you tell them that it is an emergency (although it is really a crisis). There are periods of time during the week that I am not available but I will call you back when I can. I do not charge for such calls if they are brief or infrequent. If the wait for me to call back seems seems unbearable, you have an emergency and take the actions described in the next paragraph.

An emergency is when you feel you are at risk of harming yourself or others, when you feel that your health or safety is at risk, or when you you feel you cannot take care of yourself or the others you care for. In these instances, call 911 or go to your nearest hospital emergency room.
